How to use the catalog?
| How to search by location and keyword? |
| The two search boxes suggest through using closed lists possible search values. The first box, the search by location, connects to search in the place names searcher of ‘Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya’ about 1:50.000 and 1:5.000. This searcher contains over 150.000 names. The second box shows a titles and keywords lists described in the metadata. |

| How to search by organization and types of data? |
| The organizations list that have published metadata in the catalog, shows the organization name, the total number of metadata of published data, series which owns the data and the total of the published services's metadata. Offered too a small search box which allows filter the most than 150 organizations listed. All the shown values in the list are links that run a search to catalog, either by organization name or by filtering by metadata type or particular series name. |

| The map as visualization and search tool |
| The map has a dual function, show the ambit of searched metadata and it also allows graphical searches, by checking a point or an area on the map. For example, we can move around the map until a place of our interest and then making a "click" on the map to visualization all the information that exists in the catalog of this area. |

| How to filter results? |
| Once made the search, it’s possible to apply filters over the results. Can filter by organization, metadata type, scale, format, types of services and for a free text box which search into contents of metadata. At his form it gives freedom at the user to may apply his own filters. |

| How to access to data metadata? |
| Into the results window the data metadata contains the text , if describe an information at set or if this information is a part of a dataset, in this case shows the name of the series where belongs. This text accompanies the data descriptive title and an icon that give access to information like the organization, the scale and a summary. When it is possible to access to a data download service, it appears this icon:  At the bottom are three links: -Reduced Metadata: Displays a summary of the most relevant data: Scale, title, year of flight, date edition... -Full Metadata: Displays all information contained within the data. -Supplier: Displays information about the data provider: Government, contact details... |

| How to access service metadata? |
| Within the results window service metadata containing the This text accompanies the descriptive title of the service and a icon that gives access to information as the organization, the connection address and a brief description. When the service type is OGC:WMS can be visualized using this icon:  At the bottom are two links: -Capacity: Displays information about the service: thematic, layers, reference systems, .. -Availability: Displays if the service is active or not. |
